Shri Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar was the second chief after Dr. Keshab Baliram Hedgewar the founder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in India. He was a dedicated Indian patriot who remained a bachelor and till his last breath was only striving to see India as a strong nation, in every sense of the term. He has not written any book entitled 'Panchajanya' as answered by 'Libido' above, nor did he ever say that India is only for Hindus. He has not authored any book, but his speeches delivered at various places on subjects pertaining to India and Indian thought have been published in shape of books and most famous of them is 'Bunch of Thought' which was originally in Marathi but later on translated into english and almost all the Indian languages. He was not a fascist as charged by the infamous 'libido'- the first answerer to this question. He was a great nationalist like Swami Vivekananda, Sister Nivedita and Sri Aurobindo and Mahatma Gandhi. He wanted to see India back to her prestine glory as the leader for the whole mankind in the field of spiritualism.

he was chief of the RSS ,Hindu fascist organization.in the book, the bunch of thoughts and "we or our nationhood defined"he advocated Hindu communal ism and praised Hitler and fascism. he blatantly said that India is for Hindus only.ashok sahu is wrong in equating golwalkar with mahatma Gandhi. the rss never approved Gandhi as a national leader. in fact in a case relating to the assassination of mahatma Gandhi, the rss was banned by Indian government. the rss never participated in India's freedom struggle against the English government.

he was chief of rashtriya swayam sevak sangh(RSS) a front organization of Hindu fascist forces. his book is we or our nationhood defined in which he publicly adulated Hitler. he believed India to be made for Hindus only.his another work is bunch of thoughts which blatantly supports fascism and Nazism.i request ashok to go through golwalkar's book"we or our nation hood"defined" in which he adulated Hitler and Nazism and fascism.one of the ardent disciple of golwalkar, atal bihari vajpayee on 6th may 2002, in rajya sabha virtually disowned the pro Hitler views expressed by golwalkar.vajpayee dismissed golwalkar's openly fascist views as his own( wey unke apne vichar the) and added that the bjp had nothing to do with the book.(us pusthak se hamne kuch lena-dena nahi hai) he said that his party never gave stamp of approval for the pro fascist views expressed by golwalkar. i request ashok to first read that book and make comments on others.the rss never participated in independent struggle.smartie, you first read that book written by golwalkar "we or our nationhood defined" and you will come to know that golwalkar praised Hitler and fascism or not. other wise, atal bihari vajpayee would not have distanced himself and his party from the writings of golwalkar in that book.

M. S. Golwalkar was a noble person.
His full name is Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar.
He has passed away sometimes in the nineteen-seventies I believe.

R.S.S. is NOT facist.
R.S.S. can at best be called nationalistic with a belief in internatiohalism as "World is one family".
R.S.S. believes in the concept of "Universal Brotherhood" and
progress of nations and the world through mutual cooperation and harmony for the welfare of everyone in the world.
It believes in peaceful coexistence of all nations, all creeds and all people in harmony and cooperation to each other.

M.S. Golwalkar was almost like a Rishi (sage).
He was the second chief of R.S.S.

R.S.S. is a NON-POLITICAL but a social and cultural movement in India. Its full form is "Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh" which can be translated into English as Group of National Volunteer(s).

R.S.S. is neither Political nor racist or communal.
It despises all bad things like casteism, sectarianism, hatred based on regionalism or languages.
It is not violent.

It teaches good qualities and imbibes virtues in children, youths, elders as well as senior citizen.

R.S.S. swayamsevaks are usually very honest.

R.S.S. is being blamed by popular media becuase
it is capable speaking the truth and is not afraid to do so.

R.S.S. believes in the integrity, unity and prosperity of India and the world peace. It always performs its activities by lawful, ethical, right, correct and proper means. Never will R.S.S. encourage (or do anything by) any bad, unlawful or wrong means. It has never done in the past 80 years and it will never do !

The most famous book on M.S. Goldwalkar's philosophy (and works on principles) is "Bunch of Thoughts".
If you would like to know about his and R.S.S.'s philosophy then it is the best read on the subject. The book has been compiled from M.S. Golwalkar's lectures and speeches.
(He has not actually written any book as such himself).
By the way "Panchajanya" is a weekly (or fortnightly) magazine and is being published even today when M.S.Golwalkar passed away decades ago. Information that another answerer has presented that "Panchajanya" is M.S.Golwalkar's book or writing is absolutely false. Since "Panchajanya" is a magazine and not a book and in any case M.S. Golwalkar is not an author of it.

All the best in your search !

By the way no where in the literature of M.S. Golwarkar or R.S.S. have they ever hailed facism or nazism.
It is a blatant lie to associate R.S.S. with despicable fascism and
nazism. This is a politically motivated false propaganda against R.S.S.
In fact R.S.S. and Golwalkar's literatures have always condemed the despicable fasism and nazism.

Neither M.S. Golwalkar nor R.S.S. are as base or low as
fascist or nazist. They have never praised such despicable and harmful philosophies. Never !!!!

Can any one show me where Golwalkar or R.S.S. have even praised nazism and fascism ?

Prove to me if I am wrong about R.S.S. and Golwalkar's literature.
It is an open challenge.
Since calling R.S.S. fascist and nazist is a BLAATANT LIE.
Like baseless propaganda based on utter lies !!!!

Golwalkar (and R.S.S.) have always condemned Hitler and his
inhuman ways. Always condemed Hitler.

Prove to me with evidence if I am wrong.

Another thing another answerer has stated "R.S.S. was in someway involved in assasination of Mahatma Gandhi".
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FALSE.
Indian Courts as well as Indian Government have given clean chit to R.S.S. It was a total misunderstanding at that time.
But after all the investigations that Indian Government did they could not find even 1 credible evidence that could link the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi to R.S.S. So both the court and the Government had to give a clean chit and when this misunderstanding was cleared (on the side of the ALL POWERFUL GOVERNMENT in the country at that time) they had to lift the ban on R.S.S. almost unconditionally.
The government then realized that these allegations were totally baseless and having no credibility what so ever.

For the ignorant ones let me point out :
1. Mahatma Gandhi had visited R.S.S. units and praised its activites and accomplishments at Vardha, India. (to the then chief of R.S.S. the founder Mananiya Keshav Baliram Hedgewar)
2. Gandhi has openly praised R.S.S. for its remarkable
success in eliminating social evils like casteism and
untouchabilities though its activities.
3. R.S.S. has always respected and even today respects
Mahatma Gandhi.
4. Even today "Pratah Smaran" (The poem that many R.S.S. volunteers recite in early mornings) has the mention of Mahatma Gandhi referred to in it as a great man (Mahapurusha) of India.

So where is the question of enmity between R.S.S. and Mahatma Gandhi ? These allegations on R.S.S. are false and baseless. Probably motivated by surreptious ulterior hidden motives, I think .....

One more thing to point out for ignorant ones ....

When in 1975 the then prime minister of India, declared emergency, dissolved all democratic faculties and governments like parliament, state assemblies etc. and tried to suppress freedom and democracy by becoming a sort of a dictatorial power, it was R.S.S. that stood on the side of Indians and Indian democracy. Despite all adversities and absence of all democratic facilities and full censoship of news media (as usually happens in non democratic governments) R.S.S. launched a NON-VIOLENT movement almost in the line of what Mahatma Gandhi had done earlier for the freedom of Inidia.
R.S.S. was the major and chief force (95 % + contributor) in successfully replelling this threat on Indian democracy BY Totally Non-violent means.
R.S.S. achieved this in the interets of Indians, Democracy and the world in general in a totally non-violent ways.

Can you change this good act of R.S.S. ?
Can you change this history ?

How much will the proponents of false propaganda lie ?
How much ?
