IBM/Lenovo - It's the best quality system. But for a price/performance best, typically, it's Dell.
But everyone offers slightly different features that can result in better or worse systems, better or worse prices, etc. If you want the best, go buy consumer reports and get the opinions of an unbiased group...

First, there is not any distinction between a laptop and a computer. in simple terms diverse merchandising and marketing words. Secondly, what is going to you be utilising the laptop for? That dictates alot of factors. For wide-unfold company use, not something beats IBM/Lenovo. For wide-unfold very own use, a decrease end Dell or Apple Macbook For in intensity pictures works, Apple Macbook professional or a extra physically powerful end Dell. Vaios are a waste of money. Toshiba's overall high quality has dropped off these days. HP/Compaq...eh, not something great or undesirable to assert approximately them. i don't propose them, yet does not bash somebody for paying for one. Dell or Apple are your superb bets. Dell's tech help could be actual hit or pass over each and every so often, yet their build high quality is frequently lots bigger than different manufacturers.

I would recomend Acer. They have come from the brink in the mid '90s to have excellent systems. I have owned Acer laptops since 2000, and never had to replace any parts in them (except upgrading and i don't consider that repairs). Acer also has excellent tech support and their systems are inexpensive. They even have a 20.1 inch widescreen laptop for under $2,800. That system has 2GB of memory, a 2Ghtz Core DUO, 240GB hard drive, wireless built in and bluetooth, also a 512MB Nvidia graphics card (and that isn't shared memory either!).
