Bollywood:
Pros:
1. Less nudity and sex
2. More romance
3. Better values
Cons:
1. Bad acting, silly behaviour
2. Too many women who look the same, unrealistic bimbos always dressed in tight clothes
3. They mix English into their Indian dialogues
4. Too much music, like a musical = unrealistic
5. Low budget movies
6. Not original, bad copies
7. Fake actors
Hollywood:
Pros:
1. High budget
2. Good effects
3. Can sometimes come up with something original
4. Better acting
5. Good filming
Cons:
1. Too much nudity and sex
2. Cheesy and predictable
3. Fake actors and skinny women, quite discriminating, all about looks
4. Not always good acting
5. Very often unoriginal, have seen it all before, a lot of recycle
I guess Hollywood wins. Hollywood is mostly bad, but is better overall compared to Bollywood.

Yes, very different. I have business between the US and India and find that there is a great deal of communication misunderstandings between the two. It is simply not so cut and dry. Also the demographics of the posters are quite obvious from the way that the question is answered. This debate actually leads to much greater questions, such as why I continually get annoyed calling for support for any product, service, etc when I get connected to India and cannot communicate my problem or my frustration accurately to that associate located in another part of the world. [Which explains why a lot of US companies fail in that part of the world.]
The "pros and cons" remark was probably the best and most accurate. Oh, to address the question about which Bollywood movies are copied from Hollywood - most of them. The "Indianize" the storyline so that it fits into their culture but Bollywood directors, writers and producers openly admit that they re-work Hollywood film.
Full disclosure: I work in Entertainment. I leave for India again on Oct 23 with the IG Int'l / Sanjana Jon AIDS Awareness Tour with Miss Universe (getTESTEDnow.org and myspace.com/gettestednow). My partner is Indian; I am American. (So I understand the complications and differences first hand.)

Hollywood can't compare with Bollywood. Bollywood is a Bollywood. In Bollywoods Sons are important part of the Films. this is a big difference between Hollywood movies and Bollywood movies. Bollywood not doing copy of Hollywood moveis. Bollywood just taking his Story. But films have a Indian touch.

Is this a fight ? OK...
Hollywood : Pros :
Big budgets
High production values
Very original plots
Cons :
Some really rubbish stuff (My Super Ex-Girlfriend)
Loss of innocence (you can't watch a typical Hollywood movie with your parents)
Sometimes, a bit tough to understand
Bollywood :
Pros :
The Songs (yes, Bollywood = Songs. I'm sorry, songs just can't be taken out of Bollywood. If you don't like it, well leave !)
Gorgeous Girls (ASH is quite hot than a lot of Hollywood chicks)
Really escapist stuff (you can really forget your problems for 2 1 /2 hrs)
Cons :
Plagiarism
Low budgets and therefore low production values
Movies which are real cheesy
Conclusion : Bollywood and Hollywood are very different and can't be compared. Just like the West can't understand Bollywood, go to any rural village in India and ask them to watch a Hollywood movie and see how much they understand.
(By the way, "Rang De Basanti" And "Jesus of Montreal" have very different storylines)

A lot of Bollywood plots are copied from Hollywood movies. One of which was with Aamir khan where his wife took away his son. I forgot the title of the movie but I believe it's from the movie Kramer vs Kramer. Another one is Bipasha's Basu movie, although she's quite good in it was the psychological horror copied from Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer's movie.
The most commonly used plot in Bollywood film is Sleeping with the Enemy. I've seen it in countless Bollywood movie including Yash Chopras Yaarana, I think that is the title, starring Rishi Kapoor and Mhaduri Dixit.
There are few more but I can't remember it right now, ionce my mother-in-law comes I might add some more answers.

bollywood ??????,,,,, very few are good,,,, and i am scared of the rang de pasanthi hype,,,, obsessed by freedom fighting, confronting corruption is nothing absolutely new,,,,, take Hindusthani. ITs the same story. So, Rang de pasanthi should not be hyped so much. its good story mix, nothing creative.
And, hollywood, is a mix of good & bad movies, So you have lotto choice to select and reject for you to watch.
So, Its hollywood still wins, bollywood has long way to go to reach the world standard.

Hollywood is of yester years and Bollywood is of the present era. Because today technology wise both are equal and the number of movies that are being released in Bollywood is more than that of Hollywood and also the patronage for Hollywood is declining day by day due to the changes of the life, the TV etc, etc. But in the case of Bollywood it still has a few more years to go to come to this kind of a decline.
