It will affect you exactly as much as you let it. Of course having a child together means that it will not be possible to simply walk away as visiting rights will be involved. If the feelings for your new partner are strong enough nothing will pull you apart even though there will be a few moments when memories come flooding back.

It would depend on the relationship.If your seeing someone new just be honest.If there sincere then regardless of whether or not you have children it should not make a difference.The new partner might just need some reassurance that you genuinely do want them.
