British Horse Power - a unit for power, just like a watt. If you want an equation, it's just:

(bhp) = c*(watt)

where c is the conversion factor, a constant.

Just google it - you'll find it.

bhp means braked horsepower. It is the power you get on the drive shaft after thermal and mechanical losses on the engine. horse powers are direct related to the rpm which is revolution per minute. simple as that.
1kw (1000 w) equals 1.34 hp.
