RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'.
RSS is a simple way of integrating different things on diferent locations on the web.

I'm gonna explain it with an example.
Lets say you are a daily reader of BBC news, and you like it and trust it, and someday you think why dont I put the headlines on BBC news to my own homepage. To let you do this RSS is there.
You have to simply use the RSS link from the BBC news website and then you have to paste that link to your homepage, and as the news update on BBC so does your RSS feed (the same news) on your homepage.
The orange button that you often see on websites with "XML" on it is to indicate that this site can be syndicate.

And now to explain how to use it, I gonna give you an example of syndicating your Yahoo Answers with your Yahoo 360.

To add feed through RSS on your Yahoo 360, follow these steps:
1. First of all I'll recommend you to open two browswer windows and login with your ID open Yahoo Answers in one and Yahoo 360 in the other.
1. From your Yahoo Answers page click on your nick (your screen name on Y!A)
2. You will find yourself on your profile page, here you will see "RSS" which is under your "My Stats" portion.
3. Right click on "RSS" and then click on "Copy Shortcut" from the menu.
4. Now you have got the URL to be pasted on your 360.
5. Now from your 360 page click on "Add a feed (via RSS)"
6. You'll be taken to a page with three fields, you have to paste the shortcut (that you've copied from your Y! Answers' profile)
7.Then click "Save"
8. Done !

Thats how you syndicate your Y! Answers with your Y! 360 via RSS.

I hope this will help....

What is RssReader?

RssReader is a program to read RSS and Atom news feeds.

RssReader collect news in the background at user configurable intervals and warn with a little popup in the system tray that there is a new message arrived. You can click the news headline to see a short description of the news and click or open the original news web page in an RssReader browser or default browser window.
