This peom I wrote describes it all .... what do you think I should do now?

Operator please connect me with Nineteen-Eighty Two
I need to make apologies for what I didn't do
I sure do need to tell her that I thought the whole thing through
And now it's clear that she is what - I should have held onto.

Postman can you sell me - a special kind of stamp
One to send a letter from this crazy lonely man
Back into the wasted years of my living past
I need to tell her, now I know - how long my love will last.

They say hindsight's 20-20 but I'm nearly goin' blind
From starin' at her photograph and wishing she was mine
It's that same old lost love story - it's sad but it's true
There was a time when she was mine in Nineteen-Eighty-Two.

Losing my mind, going back in time - to Nineteen-Eighty Two.

If that is original, I would sell it to a country music artist, and hopefully make a bunch of money.
Either get in touch with her, and put this all to rest by having some closure, or let it GO - like, everything you physically have of her's, as well as emotionally. You also should realize that she's probably not even the same person whe was back then anymore. Don't mounr the loss of someone who for all intents and purposes isn't the same person anymore. But don't end it all over a chick. That is so cliche.

If you are truthful only. I hope that your wife is who you are speaking about because you wrote previously that you were mairried and answered some questions in a way that a guy who is hurting would not.,,,, You should pray about it and then write out your words in a poem not someone else's words and give it to her. If it comes from your heart and she knows how you feel, she may respect that and your give you another chance who knows she might feel the same way that you do. I know it is just a poem and you are probably not talking about that year. Who are people to judge they don't know how deep your pain may run. Please give her a call or send her a letter or something and be sure it is over before you do something you may regret. If it is meant to be, you will find your way back to one another but DO NOT END YOUR LIFE. It is a sin. There are truly people out here who have a heart and care. Pray with your wife. God Bless.

Your poem was lovely. A talent like yours should be tended and used so it might grow. Now my dear, 1982 was a long long time ago. Everyone has someone they left behind and then someday realize they really loved this someone. This usually happens in a time of sadness or depression over another loss or a time of just plain out old loneliness. If this is truly causing you to have suicidal thoughts though it is past time to go get help. Find a good doctor to talk to and ask him to refer you to a psychologist with experience in this field. Even if she was in your arms right now, I truly don't think this would take all your sadness away. I will be praying for you my dear. I do not know your spiritual beliefs, nor am I trying to preach. But I know God is there for you as he has been for me so many times. Just pray to Jesus. Even if you don't believe at first, just talk to him as if he were your best friend, your anchor, and yes your Savior. He'll listen. I wish you many many blessings. Much love in Jesus name and through him that has loved me through it all.

This guy is a total idiot. I know him personally. He's married to a woman 8 years his senior and cheats on her constantly. He even searches sites like adultfriendfinder at home while his wife is present. Did I forget to mention that his wife is Mexican? She doesn't speak a lick of English, and he plans on keeping it that way. Also, he can't keep a job. He has two bachelors degrees and a masters degree but can't seem to find or hold a job. At his last job, his boss told him to quit or be fired. No wonder. All he did all day was get on this site and ask stupid questions. If you don't believe me, then check out his other screen name on this site: hooters_waitress2. He used to be a good guy, but he really pissed me off one night and I told him to f*** off. He left me a message on my phone at 4:30 in the morning telling me that we were no longer friends. Honestly, I'm ashamed to have known the cheating, lying, son of a *****.

Now, for a question of my own. Do you think that I should tell his wife that he's been cheating on her?

There's so much more that can be said about him. I honestly think he needs professional help. But, he won't listen to me. Anyway, thanks for reading. I'm glad I was able to get this off my chest. Also, don't forget to check his other screen name to see how stupid he really is.

I thought you were a child that was thinking about killing himself over a girl, I was going to say...many years ago, I knew this guy that ended his life because of this girl, she went on 2 get married and have kids, and not very many remember the young man or his name. So, he ended it just because he thought it mattered so much, but the point he made was useless. And instead, it's some old man, wishing he was young again....good poem....but get a life!

I'd burn the photographs, dump out everything you have that reminds you of her and move on with my life. I don't know how old you are, but you sound old enough to know better.

I wouldn't end it all if my ex was the most gorgeous and desirable woman on earth, whoever that is.

#1 that's not a poem it's a Randy Travis song.
#2 if she don't want you there are plenty of other fish in the sea don't worry about her. Go out and find someone new.

you need to build your self confidence, clear out all the pictures, cards, gifts, teddies anything that will remind you of her. then you need to go out and enjoy yourself, go to the pub, go away with your mates for the weekend, find something to do. try and forget about her, no phone calls, no texts no contact. try and get on with your life, most of all love yourself
