Some people with an IQ of 70 wouldnt even be noticeably different outside of the school environment; others would appear to be "slow". It depends on what their individual strengths and weaknesses are and how they compensate for their shortcomings. I taught high school students who were "EMH"- educably mentally handicapped- they had an IQ of <70. Some of them managed quite well, but had difficulty with reading and math skills; others had more difficulty with social skills and job skills as well as the academic skills.

like a child of about 6-7 years old. able to make simple things to eat such as pb and j sandwich, get cereal, pour milk, use the bathroom independently, take a tub bath or shower. can't really hold a job, can't really use the stove safely. things you would expect of a 6 or 7 year old.
