Your question is valid, but the final premise is not. Are there powers out there manipulating the people? Yes. I think so. This mess with Foley was known about 3 years ago by the GOP, but they did not address it until now? The man should have retired for health reason, or family matters in 2003/2004. For it to come out now is interesting to say the least. That is just the tip of the iceberg as to the level of manipulation.
As to their ability to control it? They may think they can. We seem to have that level of arrogance on a global scale right now. Will they be able to? No. Once the bombs start flying, and the ruckus begins there is no telling who will be left standing. Also, there is no telling who will be held accountable once the shooting match is over.

Yes, its the early signs of the Apocolypse. The world has to shrink the number of "nations/tribes" to seven to make this come about. Revelations talks of seven churches, seven seals, seven trumpets, seven angel with seven plagues, seven bowls. It all fits. Here's the breakdown...more or less...of the seven tribes of man.
The EU is one(parts of the old Soviet countries will join), North America will be another, Aisa (Russia, China, Japan, etc), Autrailia, South America, the Middle East, and the rest of Africa.
There's nothing you can do to prevent it. It has been written, it will be done.
