Oh, be rest assured, when this purpose dawns, the very first thing you would exclaim would be " Oh, it was all along so OBVIOUS, and so much A PART OF ME, and yet I missed it so grossly ! "
You might have noticed, when a baby starts crying a bit intensely ( it happens when a mother delays to breast feed it, being preoccupied or so), the child cries incessantly, and the mother is in a really trying situation.... the baby won't stop crying unless fed, and it cannot be fed till it stops crying !
Our inability to 'see' the purpose is somewhat very similar ! Unless the chatter of mind stops, we do not perceive, and till we perceive, our mind's chatter will not stop. The only 'ray' of hope is to atleast chatter about spirituality !

You pose a very good question. Do you think it is possible that we have many purposes here on this earth? Do you think it may be that we can leave our mark in both small and big ways? Do you think it is possible that everyday we can talk with other's, meet new people and learn something of ourselves through them... perhaps help them in some small way? Perhaps there really are many purposes. I will give you some examples.
Eight years before my sister died, I became interested in death and dying. I read several of Elizabeth Kubler Ross's books on death and dying. I learned so much about the human factor from this woman who pioneered the process of dying that I didn't forget it. Then, eight yrs later I was able to be available for my sister who had then been diagnosed with cancer and was slowly dying. I took care of her until the day she died. Two yrs later, my Mother was diagnosed with cancer. She died eight yrs later. I took care of her too. Nine months after she died, my Father was diagnosed with cancer.
While driving to a place I had been to before I accidently took a wrong turn and ended up at a light opposite of the one I would have been at. I looked... and there was a car that had hit a curb and came crashing into the intersection on it's roof. I would have been in that intersection to make a left turn had I not mistakenly taken the wrong road. My son and I would have been killed instantly I am sure. I later went on to become a facilitator for a cancer support group in my town, I also created it. You see how those two purposes were linked... it was not my time to go... I had something I needed to do.
A purpose can be many things... you must notice them for what they are. Sometimes they are very simple... some are great, some can be tragic... but all are good. And we are all good at many things. Have you ever made someone's day? Made them laugh? Hugged someone when they're down? Called someone just when they needed to hear from you? You see... you were meant to pose the question so you will know... you had a purpose to learn something new.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God--its within you.
You pursue your inner thoughts and will.
You may give up at age 40 and miss out the best part of your life.
Some people like col sanders kentucky fried chicken didn't hit his stride until after age 65.
He could have quit -sit at home and waited for death but he looked for better things to do.
God tells us in Romans 1:20 he has given us Internal and External ability to see and understand he is the creator.
the world outside and our feeling inside.
I know many people that did not find any peace and joy in life until they started helping others.
Sin never brings any lasting peace of mind pleasure or happiness, just the opposite -guilt and negative emotions-bitterness-hate-anger-strife.
Just as in the physical realm of life, light dispels darkness, likewise in the spiritual realm, truth dispels error; good dispels bad, right dispels wrong. Prior to conversion one is said to have been in darkness. Paul wrote to Christians, "You once were darkness, now you are light in the Lord, walk as children of light" (Ephesians 5:8).
You have to seek truth.
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR GOLD YOU GO TO THE SOURCE,
YOU MIGHT HAVE TO DIG IT OUT-PAN IT, WASH IT OUT.
SEARCH.
CHRIST IS JUST A STEP AWAY BUT YOU HAVE TO TAKE THAT STEP.

You just know it by instinct. I am tired of so-called psychics and strangers coming up to me and telling me to become a nurse. I hate nursing and have never looked into it. A friend of my sister tried to recruit me, years ago, for an LPN course. I never looked into it and since I volunteered as a candystriper in high school, dealing with blood, poop, urine and the smell of dead bodies is not on my list.
I studied Social Work, English Literature, French and Accounting with Office Reception courses. Art and writing interest me these days, and I look forward to painting courses. Maybe an art history degree, but not right now. People in my family kept buying me cameras but photography doesn't interest me that much. Do what you need to do and want to do. As you can see, wasted efforts by others to do their thing for you isn't worth it. I have also been told to cook, which doesn't appeal to me as a career. I cook at home when I feel like it.

we seek what we never understand that must be given reason. curiosity and the need for knowledge, the hunger for wisdom, the perception of truth... the elements of learning. purpose or will is never given, but it should be understood, right? thus, how would one attain the answer to the unknown if one doesn't seek for it? fulfillment is but the satisfaction of one's leisure and pleasure and perhaps his very treasure. then, and only then, would one know the meaning of his being... ciao...

If we were, it _would_ be easy to find. But we aren't "born with a purpose"; nobody creates us by magic to carry out his/its program. We have to find our purpose, which is why some people never do and some people find the wrong one.

because you can find all of those things that you mention without ever having to open your eyes;one must see to understand.
Purpose is not hard to find when one see's not only with the eyes that are in the head but, also with the eye that is their heart!

We may not even be aware of our true purpose. Who knows what even the smallest influence we have on others can be turned into really big things?
