I am sure there will be many who will mourn the sad loss of Paul Hunter the young snooker player, not least those of us who only knew of him through the TV screen and remember his first appearance in the World Championships from the Crucible Theatre. What a loss to his family and the game of snooker. Perhaps the Yahoo Q&A Community could get together to make a contribution to the work of The Derek Crowther Unit at the Christie Hospital in Manchester where he was treated. I know they need to raise £170,000 before they can employ another specialist nurse to work with their Trial Patients. Maybe a 'collection' with the help of Yahoo in memory of Paul Hunter would generate the funding the hospital urgently needs. Any ideas Yahoo?

I felt very sorry too, it's not like I ever knew him, but to pass away just as he was was reaching his prime.....always seemed a modest and likeable bloke...such a cruel loss. Yet John Virgo is still with us. Proof that God either doesn't exist, doesn't like nice blokes, doesn't care, or just has a cruel, cruel sense of humour.

Paul Hunter was a talented Snooker player who passed away last night aged just 27 years. He was diagnosed with Cancer in 2005 and leaves a wife and baby daughter. Tragic - may he rest in peace.

R.I.P Paul Hunter.....he became an stunning snooker participant who became as charismatic as he became gifted. I bear in mind observing him come decrease back from at the back of against Ronnie interior the Masters very final and merely being in awe of ways he fought decrease back. continuously thoughthe'd win his conflict against maximum cancers, even nonetheless it wasn't to be. R.I.P, he will in no way be forgotten..

First Heather Clarke and now Paul Hunter... constant reminders that we have a long way to go before we get to grips with cancer, and end the tragedy of children losing parents (and parents losing partners) far, far too young.

Yes, I was upset as soon as I knew he had multiple tumours last year, as no-one ever seems to beat neuroblastoma. It's a particularly cruel cancer because it kills a lot of children. Paul was far too young and beautiful to die, it's not fair, plus his daughter won't remember him because she's only a baby. I don't know how is wife will cope, it's awful. Love x
