If you have the money you can buy a property whether you are resident in the UK or not.
Owning a property does not give you the right to residence.

If you're an EU national, you can own property anywhere in the EU. The problem might be that you are a student, and unless you can prove that you have sufficient income (salary), you will most likely not qualify for a mortgage. If you come from outside of the EU, I don't know what the story is.

Isn't your student visa going to expire after three years? As someone else noted, most students would have a hard time raising the money for a house. After your visa expires I'm not sure they'd give you a new visa other than a six-month tourist visa just based on your having bought a house.

Simple answer is anyone can buy property in the uk, you don't even have to be a resident. The government will be more than happy to take the stamp duty from you.

If you have the money, go and ask the estate agents, I am sure they will sell you a house.
I know many people who are not UK citizens who have property in the UK
