It depends if you need to speak English or American. If you are England or Europe, you only need basic English. If you are in America, it's a little harder because we are such a big country with so many dialects, but if you know the basic English, you can usually get by. I was brought up in the Philippines and then went to Idaho, now I live on the East Coast of the USA. There are study guides available on-line. My friend is trying to learn Russian for a visit and we started at Google or yahoo and put "learning help, languages" and a web came up. If you know the basics, just listen to those around you and you'll catch on. Depending on where you are planning on going, most everyone will help if you don't know a word. the best way is to switch over to English in Ur daily life .. communicate with family members in English moreover they won't scold u and also they can correct u where ever u go wrong ..this way u'll get more fluent and confident as well in english
