I believe taking Accutane has started all this because before I went on it I felt great. I'm a 20 year old healthy male who exercises 4-5 times a week and in a loving healthy relationship. I go to school and have my hobbies to keep me busy. I was only on Accutane for 15 days and had to get off due to anxiety attacks and chest pressure. It's been over 2 months since I've stopped taking it but every single day after I got off has left me feeling average and full of problems. My symptoms now are lightheadedness, inability to concentrate, becoming full very easily when only eating a light meal, feeling like I'm breathing through a straw and that at any moment I will faint, inability to stay awake sometimes, and occasionally I'll have bad neck pain. I also lost interest in pleasurable things and feel like I'm hopeless since I've been to my doctor and a neurologist. What's up with me?

You need a new doctor. Sounds like Accutane really f'd you up! According to this page: http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopage/accutane/medicationguide.htm#mental%20problems

Everything you describe can be attributed to some damage caused by taking Accutane, some of which can continue after stopping it and requires further testing and treatment. You could have organ damage, brain damage, &c. Get to a new doctor now for a second opinion.

Aloha! Are you sure it's still the Accutane? I read your other questions and one of them is that you broke up with your first love. You say in there that it was time for the break up... maybe you are more sad about the break up than you want to admit, though. Did she move on quicker than you maybe? There's something else you are not telling us here. You do sound depressed. Didn't the doctor suggest that you take a medication to fight against the blues? Start going to the gym again, because immobility will promote feeling of hopelessness etc... we human-beings were created to move, move, move. Think Forest Gump! Run! ... till you can't run no more. Work on your breathing... light headedness can be caused by not breathing through your abdomen. Exhale twice out (consciously through mouth formed like you want to whistle)- then inhale deeply 1x through the nose(- unconsciously> consequence of thorough exhalation through mouth). Take sleeping aid if you are having trouble falling asleep at night (herbal- like Valerian extract), so you are not sleepy during the daytime. Lack of sleep can also cause depression.

I think you need to talk with your doctor. Taking Accutane can lead to serious side effects. I took Accutane in college and basically had a breakdown during a very stressful quarter. I didn't feel like myself and the only thing I can attribute it to was taking that drug. It is a documented fact that some takign this drug have problems - please see you doctor ASAP. This is not something to mess with. Given the chance to choose over again, I would have forgone Accutane and had more zits to just be happier.

Yes it is a possiblity that you are experiencing depression. You could also have a side effect to the drug. Have to explained this to your primary care doctor? If not, make an appointment and go in with a list and explain the things you have explained here and see what he/she recommends. Then if you get nowhere, go see a councelor....no, you are not crazy, just sometimes everyone needs just a little help...and that little help can get you over the hump and not be dependent on a pill the rest of your life.
I'm sorry you feel this way, but remember that you sometimes have to go through something to get to the other side and this is one of those things. If you are having thoughts of suicide, please call your Doctor first thing in the morning and see what you can do about getting in right away...
Good luck to you...hope you feel better soon!

I'm believe in God... and i think thats all you need to. You really need to start praying or let someone pray for you...You will realize once you start in a relationship with God ,He will clear your mind off all distractions, He will never put more on than you can bear. If you dont know him for yourself, go to a church and first accept him as your personal saviour, once you do that you open a door to Him for your heart and i promise you things will get better. He is a caring loving God that will never forsake you no matter what you go through or how many times you mess up, He will give you peace that surpasses all understanding!

Dont take meds! it makes you worse off. Just relax, maybe you need a holiday with ur loved one or something. Try to think about all the good things in your life. Stay positive, hang out with good friends, enjoy the finer things in life, laugh.

The side effects you describe sounds like the side effects of an anti depressant. If it's possible, drop the medication or get a substitute.

it could be from the medicine but you should keep seeing the doc, maybe you have depression that isn't caused from the meds
