I really, really enjoyed it-I do love Marquez-he has such an imagination and I love stories about big sprawling families. Was it not totally hilarious??

I preferred Love in the Time of Cholera though-not as wacky but it is based on his parents' lives and seems more heartfelt....

"One Hundred Years of Solitude" is magical. Marquez is a wonderful storyteller. I haven't read it for years (like 20) and was just remembering that I had enjoyed it very much and may read it again.

Sounds like one hundred and so many pages of boredom. What a yawnathon that would be. No wonder I have avoided War and Peace in favour of Rimbaud, Morrison and Angelou.

I couldn't hack it at all. Magic realism gives me a pain!
