...eat cat poop from the litter box?
The boxes do not get full. I use that
hard clumping litter. I'm afraid the dog's
gonna stop up her intestines or somthing.

I have those large covered litter boxes...and each one is turned to the wall, but the dogs still manage to get into them...lol.

Cat food has more protein in it then dog food does. Therefore their poop has a lot of protein in it. Let's fact it, dogs just don't care if we find their habits disgusting or not--they just do what their instincts tell them to do. They need protein, they eat it wherever they can find it.

I don't know why they do it, but this is pretty common. Our dog also liked to hunt around the ponds for duck poop. Gross.

Honestly don't know about the litter issue. Ask your vet. We had to put it where she couldn't get to it and she still managed to sneak a snack every now and then. She's still kickin' so I wouldn't worry too much!

I don't know why she does it.
Basically I spend something like 3 hours per day with Fidel on his training and one of the things I'm teaching him is not to eat anything that is not in his plate (very important as to avoid any case of poisoning or what so ever).
So I suppose all you have to do is be patient and teach her not to.

I asked a vet about that once...out of disgust, of course. They said that it was actually protein for a dog to eat that. Something like it's instinctive for a dog to do that. Gross but true.

throw the cat poop once you see it before your dog eats it.

your dog will realize that there is no poop in the litter box and will eat something else, and hopefully, dog food.
