Face to Face. Body language is a huge part of communication.

Face to face so you can see the person's facial expressions, body language and hear their tone. Writing tends to come across cold and is often subject to misinterpretations -- usually of the negative kind.

Depends on the context, subject and object, theme, audience/s- singular or plural, how close they are, how far there are, past history between the persons speaking and spoken to,
Relationship: overt or covert, neutral etc. also dictate whether it is easier to write what we mean to say or just tell face to face.
Certain times unsaid words, when are face to face, are difficult to put down on paper and if we tried to write them or even say face to face, they misfire and embarrass either party or both parties. On the other hand, certain words can't be said out but rather be written, for it is also embarrassing for the listener to hear them, but wants them to receive still.
When God has given different modes of communication, with the media and tools and faculties of ingenuity, to express ourselves, even in art forms like poetry, painting, music dance, drama, pantomime or mere silence or through gifts, through touch and interaction, and in the unsaid love between close hearts, let us use it for our best advantage.
See we can now express ourselves quite well through yahoo answers, in 360 degrees. That is also wholesome you see.

It depends. If I am mad it's easy to do it face to face. If I am hurt or sad, it's easier to do it in writing.

Face to face is by far more honorable and respected. Eye contact and expressions are everything.
