These Days I Barely Get By
I woke up this morning aching with pain
Don't think I can work, but I'll try
The car is in the shop so I thumbed all the way
I walked home from work and it rained all the way
My wife left and didn't say why
She laid all her bills on the desk in the hall
Put my only two dollars on my favorite horse
He lost by a nose and I cried
Oh and my boss says come winter we'll all be laid off
I want to give up, lay down and die
Worst of all is when she told me goodbye
Oh these days I barely get by

Whew! Nice composition, you have the touch of being a poet and a romanticist.
Why would you do that? You have much ahead of you.... Life is not a bed of roses coz with the roses comes the thorns too. Do not worry because after every storm there is a rainbow. God did not promise a life without hardships because with the hardships...our patience, endurance are being built thereby making us strong. God did not promise that everything will be easy but He promised a helping hand only if we should ask and He promised constant help when we need him the most and he always makes it a point for us to choose after every difficulty would we be bitter or better? Would we accept and move on? Would we forgive and forget?

Is this for real, because if its not it not cool to joke like that.
I was in a situation when I wanted to die because of what someone did to me. Thank goodness I never did anything because life goes on with or without you.
My advice to you is what I did:
get by as best you can day by day
get your friends and family involved, listen when they talk even if you dont agree- its good to know someone cares
start looking for a job NOW a few hours a day
when you get laid off spend the 8 hours you would have been at work looking for a job
Even if some one says they cant hire you ask them if they know someone who might, it sounds silly but when you need a job take any lead you can get from anyone who will give it.
good luck and remember, life sucks now but in 1 year or 20 years your luck could turn around and you might miss out on the best years of your life because you let a string of set backs ruin you. Life is not a hand out sometimes you have to fight for every inch you get. Be strong take your lumps with pride and keep your eyes on the finish line. When your in a marathon you win by finishing, doesnt make much difference if your 1st or last the goal is to finish, when you lay down and die you never get to see whats at the finish line.
Whats in your future?? Where will you be in 10 years??/

Wow hun sounds like a terrible day, but you know if you lay down and die then you will never know if things could be better. That's no way to go out with dignity. I don't know what your thoughts are on religion but right now would be a great time to turn to God and ask for answers. Things may seem as if they will never be better but i can promise that God has great plans for your life and if you choose to die now then that is interrupting Gods plan. Who's to say that these things aren't happening to open up new doors and allow you embark on a new journey in life. All things happen for a reason, it just so happened to hit you all at once. Open your eyes, look beyond the hurt and the pain, believe in yourself, this is one of life's wonderful curve balls, you are up to bat and its up to you to win the game. Challenging, i know, but you could be the hero of the game of life. Believe in yourself, trust in God and know that this is not the end but the beginning of your new path in life. Put on your favorite pair of running shoes and run like the wind, grasping all that life has to offer. Trust in the dark, trust in the light, trust at night and trust in the morning and you will find that the faith which may begin by mighty effort, will end sooner or later by becoming the easy and natural habit of the soul. Life is hard, of this there is no doubt! A plus side is, is your boss did
let you know, you have a chance to find another job!
Plus, I would be checking in to education, or re-training for another
profession. I had to do this my self! I went to college full time, plus I worked full time plus I had to take care of my three children! So, it can be done! I've done it!
Only you can decide to lay down and die as no one can talk you in to it or out of it! There are grants, State and Fed that can help you!

Never, Never give up. There is always hope. That is what we all live on. HOPE You are going through some real deep stuff right now, but don't give into it. Your life will turn around. Man, I do feel for you. I have been down before too, and it isn't fun. God be with you. You will survive this.

take these days one at a time
you've experienced pain that has made you cry
when you hit bottom you realize
the next step up is the hardest why?
with pain and anger with yourself to try
to start again is the hardest why?
when you think all is ended when she said good bye
there's one thing to remember and i'll tell you why!
to thine own self be true is what you should try!
to the rest who thought little (of you when you were down) you say good bye!

Keep your head up and dance like no one is watching. Look at all these people whom you don't even know respond to your cry. Take a walk and focus on what you do have. Smile at someone you don't know and watch it take off, like a yawn. Take Care, things will get better, they always do, time, time, time is on your side.

There is so much out there you could do! be optimistic my friend. Just remember that "after the storm the sun ALWAYS comes out" so just hang in there it will get better.

It sounds like you need to make some changes in your life to make things more positive.
Stop gambling. get more sleep. never get too tired, too lonely or too hungry,
