This all started having a momentary loss of acceleration followed by a puff of hazey bluish smoke. Then the car ran fine. I started using Premium and then it stopped doing it. Then I switched back to regular and it started doing it again and started stalling out. Now I've switched back to Premium and it still stalls out but no funny blue smoke. But now when it stalls it's as if the battery has been drained and I have to have it jumped. What's the scoop, Mr. Goodwrench? Someone told me the catalytic converor was clogged. Is this true?

Generally the problem you are experiencing with your 91 Buick Century is the result of it being A 15 YEAR OLD CAR!

catalytic converter was my first thought as well. But also I would have your alternator checked as well. My saturn had same blue smoke when it slalled out when i needed an alternator. I had the alternator replaced and it has ran fine since (with the exception of 2 car accidents).

the convertor might cause stalling but it would not cause battery drain/first i would check the alternator to make sure it is charging properly and if it still has running problem i would start by checking fuel psi/make sure filter is clean/and there is not any vacumm leaks/most exhaust shops can test convertors but i dont really think this is your problem
