Hey Hun,
I can completely understand how tried you are because I remember the last weeks of my pregnancy, I tried EVERYTHING to try and start labour and nothing seemed to work for me, it was when I got to the point this baby is just not going to come that I finnaly went into labour.
For squats you chould get a chair that you can lean on and put your back against the door, help yourself up and down withthe chair, if you dont have the chair you could get stuck and you dont want that. I can understand that sex is the last thing on your mind as your proberly not feeling very attractive as you feel more like a beached whale. But sex really can help it softens the cervix, when you are induced its acually artifulal seman in the gel. so the real thing is much better, as well as the tightning helps. Walking can help but I found walking mainly helped during labour to move things along.
Hope everything comes very soon.

I had the same problem. My sone was due February 5. he was born 12 days later, February 17! And here, I thought he would come early. I also took long walks. I used to walk for miles towards the end of my pregnancy. Snow and ice were everywhere and people would feel so bad for me thinking that I, a pregnant lady had no ride and had to walk. Friends and people I met at the meall would offer me rides home. Little did they know that I chose to walk and my car was safe and sound at home. I also had lots of sex. It was very awkward and uncomfortable as I was very large, carrying a boy, and of course, this also did not induce labor.
I finally had to be induced. The considerations for me were, that he was my first baby. They say your body has not gotten used to knowing when to go into labor and many women are induced on their first one and then after that, the body has no problem.
Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. I have no idea what may induce labor. None of the things I tried worked for me. Bumpy rides only made me throw up. It will happen soon enough and in his/her own time.

Crab walking on stairs? Hoe squats? Please don't hurt yourself or your baby taking some of this crazy advice. Have your OB strip your membranes if s/he is fairly certain of your dates. Early labor can endanger your baby and cause health problems.
I know the last part is hard (I was 3 weeks overdue and HUGE!) but remember that your baby's health is more important than an arbitrary date that might not even be accurate!
Instead of obsessing about something you can't control, spend some time w/ your friends and family, get your thank yous written, go have your hair and nails done, eat out (spicy), and enjoy yourself as much as possible. Read The No-Cry Sleep Solution (Elizabeth Pantley) to prepare for the sleepless nights that are just around the corner!

I can see hoe sqats could loosen the vaginal muscle and the butt muscles with are really used in labor, and I know that they are great to get through the heavy contractions in labor, but I don't think they could jumpp start labor. There really isn't a way to do it yourself, you could try sex, it would be nice way to get it in before you bleed for 8 weeks, but if you really want to try to get it started, ask your doctor to strip you membranes, they go in with their fingers and seperate the amniotic sack away from the cervix. I went in the day after my due date and had my membranes stripped, I had my son 19 hours later. It hurts a little and there may be a little blood, but it worked. Well for me the third time was a charm, but other mother have told me it workerd the first time. Good luck, and kiss the new baby for us.

When I was 39 weeks, I saw my doctor and she stripped my membranes that morning, then told me to go home and have sex with my husband. We "tried" and that was all it took. I went to the bathroom and my water broke. In 7 1/2 hours, I had my daughter.
Nipple stimulation also works well, I'm told.
I know you aren't thinking about sex, but for us, it was a time to get some caressing and closeness in before the baby and the entire family came over for a week.

Sex. Walking. Orgasms.
Castor oil will get labor started for sure, but it's not pleasant.
Remember though that the last couple weeks are the time when your baby's lungs are developing so unless you are absolutely certain of your conception date (ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN. not just possible dates), you're child might not be ready to come out.
There is nothing wrong with being overdue by a few days.

Mix a glass of chocolate milk or orange juice with a small bottle of Castor Oil (CVS, Walmart, Kroger, etc). Use the entire bottle. You will go to the bathroom like crazy but more likely than not, it will start some contractions. Your body will take care of the rest.
I used this method with both of my kids (under the advice of my OBGYN). It was so much easier than being induce with Pitocin!
Congrats on the baby!

heard that sex is helpful.and also walk
You can take 1 to 4 ounces of castor oil mixed with 6 ounces of orange juice to cut its oiliness. You'll want to drink it quickly because of the unpleasant taste. Some practitioners suggest taking a single dose; others suggest repeated doses depending on your response. Keep in mind that castor oil usually will cause your bowels to empty within about three hours. With luck, soon after that, you will be in true labor.

also stimulate her nipples, brings about the release of oxytocin, which is the natural form of pitocin. Oxytocin causes contractions, which sometimes evolve into labor.
Your practitioner may offer to "strip your membranes" to help start your labor. This procedure usually feels like a vaginal examination
Accupressure - Accupressure may be helpful in inducing labor. Some pressure points you can try are the roof of your mouth, the webbing of your fingers between your pointer finger and thumb, and above the ankle about four fingerspaces above is a pressure point
Cinnamin stick tea - Take cinnamin sticks and boil them into a tea and drink. It actually tastes good so even if it doesn't bring on labor it may help you to relax.
Evening primrose oil - Evening primrose oil comes in small capsules similar to vitamin E. It is believed to help soften and ripen the cervix.
Visualization/relaxation - Relaxation can help with labor induction. Try doing relaxation exercisers. They are also good practice for when labor actually begins.
Pineapple, cumin tea, eggplant parmesan,
