I've done this several times. This is what you do.
In the neighborhood view, click on the family you want to 'package'. The white popup will show the pics of family members. On the left side is an arrow pointing at an asterisk -- which is what you click to package the family and their house. It will save A COPY of your family into your packaged lots folder in My Documents or it will put your file on your personal account at the Official Sims 2 site, your choice. I tend to keep them on my own computer unless I have a special one to share.
If the name of the lot was Black Castle, then the name of the file will automatically be "Black Castle.Sims2Pack".
When you are done packaging and want to install it in a new neighborhood -- shut down your game and click on the packaged lot in your "My Documents/EA Games / The Sims 2/ Packaged Lots" folder -- In this case, double click on "Black Castle.Sims2Pack" -- it will install the family into your game.
Then run your game again. Go to the neighborhood you want your sims to be in... then open the houses bin using the lower left control icon w the house. Look toward the end of the listing of available houses and click on the last one. It'll be your family.
Drag them to their new location.
It is important to note that anyone that is not packaged with the family will lose their relationship (like amnesia) when they get moved to the new database/neighborhood. Each neighborhood is independent of the others so they will not remember all their friends and neighbors, and will no longer remember their relatives except the ones they got transferred with in the SAME house.
The family that is still in the original neighborhood is unaffected and still has all their memories.
Sometimes when I have built a particularly memorable house, I will package it this way so I can reuse it in another neighborhood.

You can't, you just have to create the family over in the other neighborhood.

there are a number of adults who play that interest. a extra valuable question may be whilst is "too youthful" to play Sims 2. the interest replaced into designed for an older purpose industry (13+) so she should not be embarrassed in any respect. somewhat some the human beings i understand who relish that interest (myself secure) are sixteen and older.

You can do it if you put their occupied HOUSE in the Lots&Houses Bin. It won't work from the Family Bin. But as soon as you do that, they lose all of their relationships. Good luck!

You have to move your family out of the house, then go to the new neighbourhood and place family in house desired.
