If you're able to imagine pictures or images inside your head when you close your eyes. What would happen if you only closed one? Could you see images that were inside your head and in real life at the same time?

If you could think in pictures and dream in pictures/ movies. Then why can't we see those things while we're awake. If not dreams they why can't we make our minds see things that aren't there? Are there people who can do this?

It would be like holding up a spoon and seeing it bend, but only in your mind. Like you're able to control the world in anyway you want but its just in your head! Why can't we do that and is it possible with a lot of practice?

Dude, what are you on? LOL! And why do I keep taking the bait?

I think dreaming is brought on by REM sleep. You can't have true dreams and be awake at the same time. You absolutely have to not be conscious to have what we consider to be dreams. Otherwise, you are controlling what you're mind is perceiving and thinking and it's not really a dream.

We don't control our dreams. They occur as a result of our brain transfering important information, extracted from our emotional memory area of the brain, to our neocortices for long-term storage. Experiences get all crossed and tangled in the process of this and we end up having weird dreams. Now I suppose you could think of all kinds of weird things just the same while you're awake- like spoons bending- but that's just called imagination.

Of course, if you are asleep, day or night, dreams can come.
I know you didn't mean that.
I think that it is near impossible to see the picture, even with eyes closed, while awake. I tried imagining my friend as she was talking, awhile back, and there was a reliving of the experience, but it lacked sound and picture. Very strange.
I am very old. Keep that in mind. There was a black and white 1940's movie called the Enchanted Cottage. Couples who lived there saw each other as beautiful, even though they might be scarred or just plain. Robert Young played the lead.
Maybe, we can do that when we are in love.

it really needs a mind set to be dreaming..am too realistic..so dont dream much but when am fantasing it dosnt matter if my eyes r open or close...& if am imagining something in head i wouldnt be really seeing wats my eyes r set on & this situation only occurs rare only when am musing so deep into something..else would be distracted by the things around..or unless am thinkin of the thing am watching ..
for the next part of ur Q..its all bout extrem concentration...needs so much of concentration that the mind would make possible things seen real or like bending a spoon..hav heard some incidence of people bending spoons with concentration dunno if thats real....
its extreme control of mind..thats not really easy..
i could never do that..hav too weak concentration...& thoughts that keep flying free...
