It does'nt make any sense to me ,apart from the tax's , all these new law's and stigma's are driving me mental,i'd like other people's view's,and be wicked, i'm so wound up now i'v got drive up the shop's to get some ciggie's and a bottle of scotch.

Just ignore them... they don't mean it really.....they all drive anyway... some of them smoke... and nearly all of them drink...
could you imagine how much schlep this country would be in, if we all gave up driving (the public transport system would collapse), stop smoking and drinking (not enough taxes to furnish our schools with books and teachers etc).... the whole of society as we know it would break down.
I say, keep driving, keep smoking and definately keep drinking and to hell with the bloody liberals and tree huggers!

I'm a former smoker and I believe it's because WE as americans allow them to Tax everything to their own end. It's the cry babies who say oh dont smoke here in this establishmen it's going to kill me...My ANSWER IS TOUGH **** BUDDY...GO EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU DONT LIKE IT!!
What happened to a Business owner having the right to RUN his establishment the best they see fit? If I own a joint and I want people to DRINK it up and SMOKE till they can't smoke anymore then who in their right minds should have the right to tell me I can't do that in my joint? It's ABSURD that we allow others to make personal choices for me.
SOLUTION: LISTEN HERE ALL THE BLEEDING HEARTS WHO DONT LIKE IT, GET OVER IT! IF YOU CAN'T THEN GO TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE. We are legislating personal choices of others.
if someone is smoking outside of a builiding then walk around them or go in another direction, if they were there first tough!. If you dont like it then build a smoking shack where they can smoke and be out of your way.
Bottom line is that some people feel they should make decesions about how we live our lives. It drives me crazy thinking about it. I quit smoking but in no way would want to tell someone they couldn't smoke, or drink...
as far as gas being taxed, it's actually taxed twice in america...once from the companies profits and then again at the pump by the comsumer...sad to say it was intended to improve highways and roads but most of it's wasted on other things
All this brings to mind how LEGAL happy people in this country are to sue estblishments for 2ndhand smoke, and drunk drivers getting drunk in their bar or resturant. Most bars offer Free taxi rides in many places in the U.S. I've lived. If they offere a way out from drunk driving then it's stupid to hold them responsible for a LEGAL Adult who chooses to break the laws and drive while intoxicated

Every time you buy cigs or petrol, you pay the gov.taxes which are used to treat you you from smoking diseases, but they also get their salaries out of your tax.

i agree, if they dont want us to do all these things then they should just outlaw it all. i know thaqt wont make much difference to them but at least we wouldnt be paying them all that tax.
