I found this site when I was looking for an answer to a question about my dog. Before then I did not know this site even existed. After I found the answer I was looking for I started reading the questions people were asking and found I could help them in some way. I started in August and now this site is like having a cup of coffee with an old friend. I stay up late so it is a perfect place to be and not bother anyone else in the house. I'm at home and comfortable, helping when I can.

Well, it's better than the discussion boards, where it is too hard to follow a thread, and you never know who is responding to whom. Plus, I can never find my posts. And the chat rooms -- forget it, towers of Babel. I get out of work at 2:00 am, and there is no one up... so I get on here and I feel connected to other people. Sometimes I can actually give a helpful answer to someone. Sometimes I just like reading the answers -- a lot of good laughs, as the poster above me said. And sometimes I allow myself to feel a little (false) sense of superiority because there are so many idiots in the world... and sometimes I even tell them they're idiots, and point out the fallacies of their thinking. It is absolutely unproductive, but it gives me an outlet when I'm cranky, and no one has to read it if they don't want. Plus, most of the people I get mad at are on here to pick a fight anyway, so everyone's happy. Mostly, it is just my way of winding down after a long day. Yes it IS great fun. I'm a little addicted... oh well, could be (and has been) worse !!

Helping people find answers-and think for themselves
Trying to encourage religious tolerance
Reading other's opinions and giving feedback
Getting feedback on my opinions
And to many other reasons to list in the time I have....

I have plans for certain people on here. As much as they may have plans for me. I have about 10 back up plans. Men can't count that high so I think I might win....they are easily distracted.

Community where you get to know people, feel comfortable, and want to spend time.
Or, for some, soapbox for nutty and wacky ideas, spouting racist comments, homophobic comments, or anonymously throwing out raunchy sex jokes.
In other words -- whatever you want it to be :)
