Step one: get rid of the gloves.

I currently coach at a semi-pro level and I disallow any gloves during practice.

When you are a pro making millions you can choose to use gloves.

I see some good pointers on catching...just remember, any ball that can be touched, can be caught.

from my perspective...it's not the catching fundamentals that you lack, it's closure on the reception...

bringing the ball to your body and tuck it way.

Do this everytime you catch the ball...even when just goofing around before practice.

I make my linebackers catch for the Quarterbacks and kickers...
and they have to tuck the ball under both arms before passing it off to the owner.

My linebackers lead the season in interceptions and Defensive touchdowns on intercepted passes...to include a 102 yard run back of a bobbled pass.

Hold your hands in front of your face with palms out. Touch your thumbs together and your fore fingers together into the shape of a triangle. Look through the triangle and watch the ball in.
Keep your hands up past your waste and be ready for the ball.

Fundamentals.
1# Watch the ball all the way to your hands.
2#Catch the ball with your HANDS, not your body.
3#Watch the ball all the way while you catch it with your hands.
4# After you have completed steps1-3, tuck the ball away, i.e.,
bring it in to your body.

Your 40 time isn't 4.42. You'd be the fastest 13 year old in the world if it were. Where would you have ever gotten timed for the 40? LMAO!

It is like any game that has a ball. You have to keep your eye on it until it is in your arms or in your glove or in the net
