could be. turn your switch on.the "check engine" light stays on for 2 seconds. as it turns off, you should hear a click from under left side of dash. if no click, the relay isnt powering up the pump. its a common problem on these cars

thats electric. ck the fuse, also the fuel pump relay.[the clymer repair manuel describes how to jump it to ck it] do the wire wiggle test, while someones cranking the car over ,wiggle the wires in the fuel circuit.see if it starts.[the clymer manuel also has the wire color codes ].also ck the wiring at the tank since its already been out was it reinstalled sloppy and now its corrodded or shorted out?

the main relay is in charge of suppling power to pump so make sure if it is or is not getting voltage that will help determine if it is a mechanical failure or not. main relay could cause you to spend unnecessarly.

problem might be with the current supplied to the pump. get ur battery checked. get ur relay also checked.

replace your fuel filter
clean the fuel tank of any debris
