I am really interested in teaching and also need that job. I've heard so many different opinions.....and now I am lost and frustrated.
I have my diploma from Career in Graphic Design and I am postgraduated in Shoe Design (I studied in "La Universidad de La Salle Bajio" in Mexico). I want to teach Spanish and Arts & Crafts here ( Any Grade), but people keep telling me that my studies in Mexico are not credited here, or that if I want to find a good job like a Teacher, I have to go back and take High School classes again to get my Teacher Certificate....that sounds discourageing, if I already spent several years studing and invested a lot of money in my studies. Can somebody help me please?....I live in the city of McDonough, I am a legal resident here and I have my employment authorization too. It may help somebody to give me more detailed information.

go to the georgia department of education website and follow the links. there is a great need for bi-lingual teachers, it probably will only take you a few courses to be accredited. but you cannot expect to just teach with a degree or certificate from another country and start here in the u.s. without learning our system. if you got a certificate from georgia and went to wyoming you would have to upgrade your certificate to their state requirements too. if you are really interested then you will not see the additional requirements as a deterrent but as furthering your education in your new country.

Yes, join a black sorority and be a goody-two-shoes, that will get you a teaching job in Georgia.
