Honestly I would suggest a desktop pc, I myself use a notebook and I lay on my bed, Its great a lot of times because my pc goes where i go.. But it really is personal preference and for what you want to do, keeping your computer stationary would most likely be best.

I have had both. I just sold my laptop because I was using the PC more. I did not have a use for the laptop because I was no longer in school. I still burn cds and other stuff with my pc. One thing about a laptop they are expensive to get repaired if something happens. For example, the ac adapter port is the most common problem. You are always plugging the adapter in and out and it can cause wear and tear.

Laptop. It can do anything a desktop can do and with more and more places having Wi-Fi for free, you shouldn't have to much trouble finding a connection on the road. Just be careful and don't lose it!

Lenovo. Dependability, guarantee (and action on guarantee). I extremely have 15 of them, ranging form T40s to T60p's. all of them run quite properly, no problems. i attempted all the different substantial sort, yet none finished as properly as Lenovo. a number of the computers (over one hundred fifty contraptions) enhanced something that necessitated the motherboards being replaced. The tech confirmed up, replaced, and that i became happy.
