use a peice of plastic that is smooth, like the side of a credit card and scrape gently. Dont use the hair dryer on it. dont warm it, scrape it off cold, then wipe the rest off with some lens cleaner and soft cloth.

my husband says to put them in the freezer and the wax should be easier to scrape or chip off.

Good luck!

The bigger worry is how the wax got there in the first place. Is this church in a ghetto? Inhabitants may have been using the candles to cook dope. Check the security tapes. If this is regular old everyday dead flat window glass, a razor blade will scrape it off no problem. If it is textured glass, then it gets a bit more difficult. Some kind of solvent, a brush, and a good supply of rags will be required. If it is a composite plexiglass / lexan glass that one finds in the ghetto at check cashing stores, liquor stores and gas stations then it will scratch. Yeah, it's bullet proof against small arms fire and will protect the poor slob working behind the counter but the secret to it's strength is in it's resiliency. The surface is easily scratched and clouded if the wrong cleaners are used.

Stick your glasses in the freezer for about ten minutes. The wax should just pop right off. I've done it before.

EJM said it best... Hot water, then wash it off, you may have to scrape it gently to get some of the stubborn pieces off.

Just for Future reference, when you don't want candles to stick to your glass holders, put salt in the bottom of the candle holder before you put the candle in.
