My dad is paying for me and him to go on vacation for spring break. I was thinking about either Settle or Boston. What are the advantages and disadvantages of visiting each city? Which one's better?

Go to Seattle, I live 30 minutes from Boston and it isn't that great!! In Boston, Chinatown is fun to visit, the New England Aquarium is fun as well, and there is the Science museum. Quincy Market is nice to visit, where they have all sorts of shops. Also, there are good restaurants. My favorite is Legal Seafoods, very yummy. Other than that its kinda boring. It might be fun to spend 3 days there, at the most, but after that you may have a hard time finding things to do! Whatever you decide, have a good time and take a lot of pictures!!

Boston probably has more interesting in-city tourist type American history things. But Seattle has cool stuff too, and amazing accessible natural beauty very close to and in the city. However, Seattle in mid-March will be gray and overcast, if not raining.

For spring break, I would suggest something a little further south, for some nice weather! :)

Both are wonderful cities, in my opinion. And in March, both will have miserable weather, in my opinion! Boston will probably be cold, windy, and damp. The leaves won't be on the trees yet, and only a few of the earliest flowers will have bloomed. Actually the weather is fairly unpredictable in March - it could be bright and sunny with temps in the 60s, or there could be a blizzard!

Seattle's weather in March is cold and rainy. You can almost bet on it at least drizzling every day. I'm not sure about flowers and trees, but there are a lot more pine trees in Seattle than in Boston. (My husband is trying to convince me that the weather in Seattle isn't that bad, but I'm not sure I believe him!)

If you do go to Seattle, make sure you see them toss the fish at Pike Place Market, and also go to the Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe.

Both cities are equally expensive, I think.

Well, it will still be quite cold in Boston, but I have to say that I would still pick it over Seattle. There's just more history in Boston...The Freedom Trail, Paul Revere's house, Old Ironsides. Plus lots of good seafood, good shopping (the legendary Filene's basement), and the museum of art is nice for its size. And, with over 80 colleges in the Boston area, there'as a lot of nightlife and cool bars/bands. And Boston is easy to get around without a car. Plus, c'mon, you know you want to hear someone say "Havahd Yaaahd."

Not that I have been to either, but if I had a choice, I would go to Boston. There's so much cool history to see in Boston, and it's a beautiful town.
