Is it just me that is overloaded with how much we have to teach our children these days? As opposed to what our parents needed to teach us. I mean, now we have the internet, cell phones, i-pods and the list goes on and on. When I was a teenager, I had my bicicle then my car. I had a "boom box" (remember those) and a television in my room. All of which, my parents had to make sure I used correctly and at appropriate times. Now our children have the internet and a host of safety issues that goes along with it. The proper use of a cell phone as not to run up the national debt. Oh, and i-pods and illegal downloading. And all of which, and we are to make a living and sleep at the same time. Am I getting old or just feeling that way?

We may be getting old but it is the way of life. Yes it is true that the times are changing and that kids today have more than we did. Not to mention the income status has changed as well. I hope that you keep in mind that you need to show your kids responsability and the worth of money and how it is made. Rather than handing it over to them because then they will never know how it is to be independent.Your not getting old, times are changing and you just need to change with them.

i'm with you, dude. i pity my parents some times, and some times i can see in their eyes, they pity me... but as al;ways, the best way to teach them is to live the values you want them to learn. kids ussually copy their parents, and the good and or bad show threw. make time to anwser their questions honestly. and stand by your rules and word... and i'm 39 and dyeing my hair, ya i'm feeling and look'in like that old truck farmer smith had..

WELL IF YOU HAD A BOOM BOX AND A TV IN YOUR ROOM . YOU ARE NOT THAT OLD . WE HAD ONE TV, IN THE HOUSE AND IT WAS BLACK AND WHITE PICTURES ONLY . AND THE RADIO WAS OUR BOOM BOX . THIS IS REALLY TRUE. SO YOU -ARE NOT THAT OLD YET.
