He might, but it might be more complicated than simply dating someone else, might be a mixed up relationship, a relationship on break, or any other sort of things.

But if she continually asks and that's all he says and makes no effort to try at the very least to give some sort of idea as to why, then he's probably hiding something.

It could mean a lot of things.

Most probably he has a girlfriend. Maybe he has feelings for your friend but he's in a relationship, or he's trying to end it with his current girlfriend. Maybe he's just trying to tell your friend that he's in another relationship.

Or, in the literal sense, he's in a very complicated situation.

Most often, "It's complicated" is used when someone really doesn't want to talk about a situation (avoidance) or it's way too difficult to explain at the moment.

But, don't take it from me. I have no relationship experience.

It's complicated translates into "I'm not ready... yet" It's like the amber light at the traffic junction.

The guy probably likes the girl enough to want to keep options open. But conflicts circumstances might dictate otherwise. It's complicated because there's often more than 1 hold back factor.

Annoying ex-gf, financial issues, best bud also likes the girl. Plenty of reasons to go around.

I think your fren should sit this guy down and really listen to him talk out what's complicated for him. If they can sort this out together, I think they'll enjoy a really sweet relationship.

he just doesn't want to be involved with her. It's complicated as in, it's hard to explain it but i have other things in my life. I don't think he likes her because "it's complicated" means he just wants to avoid the situation all around. I know it's hard to tell your friend that this guy isn't too intrested in her. You should just try to avoid the situation as well and get her to meet some other cool guys.

It's complicated. Guy code for, " I don't really have a good reason for it outside of not wanting to do it."

He's either not interested, or he has a girlfriend already, or there's something in his personal or family life that means he's not ready for a girlfriend right now. And if he's not ready to talk about it, then she isn't a close enough friend for him to confide in.

Your friend should respect his feelings, and just be his friend for now.

It means that he has something in his past that is holding him back or he is afraid to tell her that he isn't interested. Have your friend lay low for awhile, or have her go after someone else. Sometimes that is the best way to get a guys attention. He may also have some feelings with an ex girlfriend that he thinks wants him back. It could be lots of things. Your friend or you can ask him straight out what he feels.

What Complicated Mean

Something is wrong and she should back away from him now. He is in a relationship (possibly married), he may be gay, or he doesn't like her. Tell her to move on, he is not available for some reason.

It means he's not interested in her , but he's trying to tell her that in, I guess, a nice way (or a cop out way, if you ask me)!
