I have a dislocated septum in my nose. Does it need any operation? How does it occur? If it needs an operation, is there any alternative remedy?

I think you probably mean a deviated septum. It can be hereditary. It can cause snoring problems and affect your oxygen intake by blocking nasal passages. However, if you are not having these problems; you could hold off on the surgery.

The surgery isn't all that bad, but there are alternative therapies you can try. Check with an ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist.

I have a deviated septum myself...the thing i did was to relocate it manually myself...i just twisted my nose back to where it belongs...I'm assuming youve broken your nose here...it wont hurt anymore than it does already...turn the nose back until the bone falls into place where it was before much like a piece of wood thats been broken and returned to the grain it was in...you'll feel the grain of where the bone was slip back into place...once this is done your nose will be fine....there may be swelling...and you will need a cast over it to protect it but I wouldnt let anyone operate on it...they tore out pieces of cartilidge and packed nostrils w/ gauze on me and my nose may never be the same thanks to those idiots...do whatever it takes...but once you've returned your nose bone to where it was you'll feel it...and dont let anyone mess w/ it...its your body...not anyone elses...

I had the surgery and its no big deal! Outpatient, and recovery is not really painful just uncomfortable. And you'll be back to work/school or whatever in about 2 days. If you are not having problems with it like constant sinus infections or something then you don't have to fix it.
Also DONT try fixing it yourself. If you go pushing the broken bone around, you may puncture something. It is only mm's away from your Brain in there.

you can be born that way or if you get your nose broken it will happen, if it gives you no problem dont worry about it, otherwise surgery is the only help i know of.
