Who cares about Iran? There are plenty of Americans that don't believe the Holocaust ever happened or the slave trade, for that matter.
Pretty frightening, actually!
Of course the Jews know it happened and black people know that the slave trade is a fact, but these happen to be major historical events, and taking a "who cares" attitude, whether ut be a country or just random idiots, somehow takes away from just how important these things were.

There are many Muslim clerics in different countries who have denied the Holocaust, but from my understanding, Iran is the only one that has legislated the idea into being through government policy. However, there are Holocaust deniers in the American and Canadian educational system.

I had to read your question twice in order to answer. At first I was upset by the question. Then, I rethought my response after giving the intent of the question the benefit of the doubt. I still say...
How do you forget the unforgettable? When was the last time you saw a news byline that said "Slaves and descendants okay with society dismissing slavery" or "Holocaust victims at peace with genocide"... I think you see stories more like "US government to pay reparations to slave descendants (i.e., Rosewood)" or "US to overturn 'separate but equal' doctrine, or even the Dred Scott decision, in favor of integration". If victims of prejudicial violence were okay with being unnoticed (overlooked or forgotten), there would be no civil rights movements and no causes to fight genocide and other crimes against humanity today.
Forgetting is the first step in repeating history. Silence is the first step in spreading ignorance. As a minority, I don't need anyone to acknowledge the heinousness of slavery for me to feel good about myself. However, I do need my government and community to acknowledge the abominations of slavery as a sign that we can and will protect people from allowing such atrocities and ignorance to continue. This isn't about self satisfaction in being right; it's about recognizing people as people.

The problem with mullahs of Iran and Ahmadinejad denying the holocaust is that they are openly stating that Israel must be wiped off the map! They and other terrorist groups have approved that when they have the tools they don't hesitate to materialize their dreams. This is the danger!
