Okay so GM won a few wonder how much that cost them?

Not just cars b\c the top ranked trucks are the honda ridgeline and the toyota tundra. I know they can do the work an f-350 can... better pray they don't enter into that segment, i'm sure the american auto industry would collapse overnight. No crying about where their assembled. Go ahead start crying and bitching because you have no material proof if you disagree with me. Tell your mechanic I said hi.

It has nothing to do with the workers who assemble the vehicles... they do a heck of a job. It's a shame for them that american car companies have difficulty on the executive level. The problem is on the R&D side. For starters the trend is against innovation and more towards "if it ain't broke don't fix it". That attitude is what left the door open for foreign companies to be innovative and make designs that better meet the needs of consumers. It was foreign car companies that first came up with the video screen and camera to see behind you... then only after the public started buying vehicles with the rear view video did american companies add that feature, but by that time foreign companies had new design innovations in their vehicles... we were a huge step behind! Another problem is marketing blunders A good example is Ford who has been living off truck sales for years, so they keep making trucks and SUVs... then all of a sudden as gas prices shoot up people want fuel efficient small cars and all Ford has to sell are a bunch of trucks. Gee why are they in a heap of trouble? The bottom line is american vehicles are well built, but theres only so much our workers can do when the design and marketing strategies the suits come up with are crap.

HAHAHAHA HONDA RIDGELINE! That severly underpowered peice of junk! Tonka toys builds a better truck. And by the way, it was a consumer survey, not an actual analysis. And they only interveiwed 64,000 people. That hardly represents the full marketplace. And heres J.D. Powers list of the best used cars, trucks and SUVs. Funny how HOnda is on there once with their "entry-level" SUV.

I saw a new Shelby Mustang today and I think that Ford has finally made one car some people will want to buy. If it had a hybrid motor so that you can have the electric engine to turn off the gas engine when your at a stop light or have bio-diesel or something energy efficient, it would really make sense. The increase in "performance" cars which use more gas is beyond stupid!

The US car companies are trying to hard to hang onto the 60's--huge cars that eat too much fuel. SUV's, trucks, large vans, etc. These huge cars are just hard to maintain because of their sheer size and number of complicated parts.

As for passenger cars, I HATE that the newer a car is, the more crammed the engine bay is. It is close to impossible to do even routine maintenace on some newer cars now. But...to make cars as small as possible with the most power and the least weight, this is what they do.

Americans want powerful cars... beefy cars are big, and are complicated.

American did a great job with their Harleys. Niche market with specialized product.

Obviously you have not heard of MACK trucks. Their engine is NASA inspired technology. Totally different from piston engines. Expensive, but reliable and enormous power.

Ask every MACK owners. No other truck comes near MACK.

If you talk about tundra and all these lower range models, MACK is not interested.

Hope my answer is well.

Of course, you are not gay nor communist. You just want some opinion.

cheers bro
