You helped create these children don’t you want to have they grow up being happy well-adjusted adults having more than the basic necessities of life or do you want them to grow going to bed cold and hungry at night and having only hand me down clothes to wear. Child support goes to the parent raising the child weather it is the man or the woman. That way both parents pay for raising the children not just the one raising them. Women only get alimony if they were married for a long time and were stay at home mothers. That is to help her to get some training so that she will be able to get a d decent job so she can help raise your children and give them the things they need. Women traditionally have lower paying jobs than their husbands and sometimes this is due to the husband’s self-esteem issue, sometimes it is due to the fact that men traditionally only hire other men for the high paying jobs.

A woman gets child support because it takes two to make a child and each is equally responsible for raising the child.
She gets alimony only if she cannot work. In some cases, that means she has been home raising the children and does not have the necessary skills to work. In may also be that she is impaired in some way and cannot work. Or, the husband is so wealthy that she cannot possibly find employment to sustain her in the style to which she has become accustomed. If the wife is the primary breadwinner and one of these circumstances is true of her husband, she must pay him alimony.
By other divorce help, I assume you mean a divorce settlement. Laws differ in different states but usually the husband and wife are allowed to keep all assets they brought into the marriage and divide those they acquired while married.

First of all, the whole idea of women striving to be equal to men, when we are already better is kind of funny. Also, child support isn't for the woman, it's for the CHILD. If a father gets custody, then the woman would pay child support. Women get alimony in cases where it was agreed upon that the man would be the breadwinner. Again, if the woman was the breadwinner, and the man stayed home, then he would get financial support. There are many women who worked early in their marriages to put their husbands through school - they are entitled to some of the earnings they helped make possible. Studies have shown that after a divorce, men wind up in a better financial position, and women wind up in a worse financial position. And maybe if you are going to ask insulting questions about alimony, you should learn how to spell the word.

Yeah right..
Men will spill their sperm into our uterus and they may ran away but we have to carry their sperm as a child for our life long?
Child support is a way to share our equal rights with men because men should be equal to share the response to raised their kids with us.;
She spend her life long saving money to get married and you will run away with another woman and do you expect that she has to be broke economically? Hell NO! You should share the expenses and her losses by you. That's why alimony or other divorce helps. Those are the forces to make a man behave as like a human who never know to behave like that before.

As far as I know, it works both ways. Child support can be payed to a father, and alimony/palimony can be payed to the male partner. It all depends on the situation, whether or not there is a prenup; income differences, etc. My mother recently got massively screwed over in a divorce despite the evidence that she deserved it. Lawyers really do make a difference in a divorce case.

Yer an idiot.. do you think it is a womans responsibility to pay all of the bills for a child that two people produced??.. If the man gets the kid than he should be entitled to support, if the woman gets the kid then she should..it has nothing to do with equality. It's called being a responsible parent.

There are three things you need to know.
1. This is in the wrong category
2. Alimony is not spelled alamony
3. There have been several decisions awarding child support and/or alimony to a husband, if the wife's earnings are greater than his.

Unfair statement I know (or know of) countless of women who have children and have never pay a dime in support or a hour in time....what im saying is times have changed so much so that many women just walk away not wanting the support or the children...............of any kind. I guess they wanted equal rights ?

Get this. Women want to be paid for the same job that a man has with the same education. If you hire a man and woman for the same job and they both have the same education and experience, then you should pay them the same amount. This does NOT HAPPEN!!!!! This is where women want to be considered equal dingdong!!
