I'm due on the 13th..thats this friday...and so far I've seen no signs of labor. I went to the doctors last wednesday and the doctor couldnt even fit a finger to seperate my membranes. I've been walking ...I work 2 jobs for pete's sake...so I'm pretty active. Has this happened to anyone and did you go far past your due date? One good thing is....the baby always stays on my right side, but all day he's been practically in the middle so I'm hoping he's getting ready to come out.

I, too, understand how frustrating it is to go over due. On the bright side? You're not overdue...yet! Thankfully, I was only 4 days overdue, but that was about 4 weeks too late for me!

Since the DR wasn't even able to separate your membranes...it may be another week or two. I was 1 cm, 60% effaced, and -1 station...a few days before my due date and I was still late!

It'll happen when it happens-- I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer than that! But, honestly? Enjoy the time while you have it. The best thing I did when I was 2 days past due was get a pedicure & manicure. After giving birth, it was the only thing that made me feel "pretty".

Hang in there!

Baby's come when they're ready. It's really rough to have to wait at this point, but many labours just start when they start and you don't always see signs beforehand (like the waters breaking, the baby dropping or the show-when the bloody-mucous plug comes out).

My babies were all late (between 1-3 weeks). Long walks can help, if you're ready to go into labour, some people say that having orgasms help, too (but be careful of deep intercourse-not usually recommended that late in the pregnancy).

More importantly, relax. Your baby will come. It's great that you're still so active. You haven't mentioned whether it's your first or not (seems like maybe this is the first), but let nature take its course. You don't need to interfere unless there's something wrong.

The more active i was it became harder for me,i was two weeks late. With my other two,i didn't over do it,i just did what i felt like doing, then the next thing i know i came a few days early. However,no matter what, when it is time it's time and there will be no Holden back,it will be here sooner than you think,so try to relax this week and see what happens, lay back, prop your feet up and do a crossword or read or watch TV to relax the mind from delivery, your right, cause wondering about when, will drive you over the edge.Good Luck and best wishes to you and your family on the new baby.

You will most definately know when it's time!! I wouldn't worry about it... you worrying could put stress on the baby and stress can cause difficulties during pregnancy! Being active is a good thing, but don't over do it! I had too much stress from working myself until I could barely move and I had high blood pressure for 3 weeks straight... Therefore I had to have a C-Section!! Just be careful and don't worry... He'll come when he's ready!!

if you think you're nuts now, just wait till 39 weeks after the baby is born!!!!I went 1 week past my due date with all my children. My husband took a weeks vacation the week of my due date and every time I went into labor the day he went back to work!!!! Best of luck to you!

hey,
Just let nature take its course.Dun stress yourself just bcos your due date is round the corner.Your body will known when to deliver your baby when time come.Everyone in this world will give u different answers as there is no fix answer so just let your body do it work. Not everyone will have a smooth labour even though she had done quite a lot of exercise so dun worry n b a happy mum for the arrival of your bb.However for one thing u must closely monitor is the activity of your baby.Keep a close watch on the movement of your bb,like the frequency of kicking u.Once there is a slow down in this activity or totally no movement than u should call your gynae n rush down to hospital for emergency delivery else there is nothing u should worry about..

If you go over it won't be much. Keep walking. Your baby will come out when he is ready. Remember that you only get nine months of pregnancy (give or take!) and a life time of after birth experiences! You will be in labor before you know it. Don't rush it. I expect to hear from you after the birth! GL.

I hope something happens for you soon. I know what you mean by going nuts lol. I am 6 days past my due date and was only 1cm dilated at my 39 week appt. I am still only 1cm dilated at 40 weeks and 6 days. Ahh, things will happen soon enough though. Every pregnancy is different, just remember that.

although your due date is close, it isnt a definate date of arrival. Most babies dont come on their due date, they come before or way after. baby just isnt ready. i know you are anxious about meeting the new little person, but the longer the baby is in there the better of until it gets into the extravagant over due terms

I was a week late and the doctor finally induced me. Definitely keep walking! Even if you're late, it'll make for an easier labor and hopefully avoid the growing-in-popularity C-section.

Some women are at 3 centimeters for weeks before going into labor, so women aren't dialated at all and go into labor.

Hang in there! I'm so excited for you!
