Well, we tried appeasement for 8 years and ignorance was bliss, and we even gave Kimmie all the toys he wanted, and it just didn't work.
And France, Germany and Russia were taking bribes from Saddam, so I don't consider their "friendship" worth much.
Best not to listen too closely to enemy propaganda during a time of war. You might start believing it.
