Has the current U.S. administration's lack of diplomatic finesse left us few options?

Countries like Venezuela with Hugo Chavez thumb their collective noses at us. So does North Korea and Iran. Cuba has become the darling of the anti-American coalition. Our European allies are of little help. Are we a victim of our own hubris?

And as far as our European "allies" - France was still debating Hitler's potential threat when the Nazis came marching into Paris. Some people never learn.

"Diplomatic finesse" is what Jimmy Carter used - for a year - while the Iranian terrorists held American hostages.

In order to have reasonable dialog, you must have reasonable people involved.

The rest of the world would not know how to lead their way out of a paper bag. They are relatively useless at this stage in history. They are victims of their own ineptitude. When the going gets tough, they always come knocking. They are pathetic.

Well, we tried appeasement for 8 years and ignorance was bliss, and we even gave Kimmie all the toys he wanted, and it just didn't work.

And France, Germany and Russia were taking bribes from Saddam, so I don't consider their "friendship" worth much.
