Rat traps with peanut butter. In 2 weeks you'll have the population under control.

I shot one yesterday with a 22 caliber rifle. Took three shots at about fifty yards but he finally went over. I have never seen one around here until this one showed up. I have been fighting moles for a couple of years and am finally getting ahead of them by trapping them, and suspect the chipmunk is enjoying the tunnels and runs the moles dug.

They are all property destroying rodents and need to be dealt with as soon as they appear. Regardless of the means needed to defend yourself and your property.

We used to have problems with squirrles in our backyard eating up all of you pecans. This sounds crazy, but we bought a few of those metalic colored pinwheels that will turn with a light wind. The squirrles dissapeared like magic. I can't explain it, I guess the reflection of the wheel while its turning in the wind scares them off. Since chimpmunks are rodents also, it may work. You could probably find a few cheap ones at to toy or dollar store.

Depends on where they are entering. I'd try an exterminator and if that doesn't work, try a gun. I once killed a 'momma' chipmunk outside my chimney with a rifle and the babies subsequently died. We had a problem with them big-time. They are like squirrels. Kill the parents, you end up starving the babies...sad, but true. And you are rid of the pests.

I had a dream a couple weeks ago that there were chipmunks in my house, and they were everywhere.

I kept stepping on them, but I couldn't kill them all, there were too many of them.

Good luck, you'll need it.
