The problem is not other countries testing nukes, dear. The problem is trying to keep countries run by dictators with a questionable grasp on reality from getting them. Can you imagine what the world would be like today if Hitler had had a nuke? Or if Saddam had had one instead of just some poison gas rockets to lob at Israel? Ideally, nobody would have nuclear weapons, but that's not an option. As a second best, I think limiting the number of people who do have them is a good idea.

We want the other countries to know that we will stand against terrorism in any form no matter what the cost. We won't go down without a fight. As for other countries having nukes, when a country denies what they are doing and tries to undermine NATO investigation you're damn right we will fight against that too.
As for aussieblonde not we don't consider our selves to be the world police, but we WILL make a stand whether anyone else agrees with it or not. Get your facts straight honey!

The US tried to be the good guys and diplomatic in the 90's but that didnt work. So now the US has to be ruthless and make every one scared of them. Its normal when everything else fails. You have to be tough on all the countries if not there will be chaos. The US has got to start nuking a countries to show them who's incharge. Sounds scary? You bet ya!

The US likes to think it has the authority to run the entire world, "self proclaimed world police".........the way they scare the rest of the world is by going to war with anyone that disagrees with them and then getting as many innocent countries involved to defend them (they do this with statements like Quote Bush straight after Sept 11 when he addressed the world "If your not with us, you're with the terrorist!" - blackmail tactics), which in turn puts all the innocent countries at risk of terrorist attacks.
The thought pattern of Americans that they can be the only country to test nukes etc, is due to their feeling of supremacy, which is almost deflated now along with their world super power status
As for the answer below; NO EMPIRE! NO KING NO QUEEN NO EMPIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, just for starters, exactly who is it you think is scared of us? The Taliban? The Iraq terrorists? North Korea? Iran? None of these appear particularly scared to me? Americans on the other hand do appear scared though - America is also the only western country whose leaders sanction torture - now that is a little bit scary, but it is also much, much, more sad don't you think?

No,
The only people that are scared of America is those that rely on socialized governments and the slavery they enact on the population of those countries.
Socialism = Modern Day Slavery

No.
You do know that there are people out there like Hugo Chavez, Kim Jong Il, Robert Mugabe, etc.., and you think we are scaring people? You need to live longer, be a sponge, and acquire some wisdom before you will be able to approrpiately respond to your own question.

Nah, we're scared of North Korea now, because we don't have the fortitude to stop them. We don't have the troop strength anymore.
