I am looking into starting a teen center in my town that has big problems with drugs and teenage pregnancy. The kids say this is due to the fact there is nothing to do here. I am almost done with my degree (in both Psychology and English) and want to look into buying an old Catholic church in our town. What is the best way to go about looking for funding for a project like this? All ideas would be appreciated.

You need to create a nonprofit org, register with IRS, and apply for government grants. http://www.grants.gov

To find foundations that fund such operations, and information on how to start your nonprofit, see The Foundation Center website, a truly great resource for information on starting your org and finding funding: http://foundationcenter.org/
