Well it depends on what you mean to replace internet explorer :D, because you can use MAXTHON Browser, as an addon for Internet Explorer, it is a really cool addon because you can have these new options without installing a huge browser like opera or firefox:

You also have the option to set favorites as "Most Favorites" in the favorites side bar and open them when Maxthon Browser starts. Even more options are available from the right click menu.
Ad Hunter
Popup ads, Flash ads, Floating ads, Image ads... Get enough with all these annoying ads? Here is the solution: AD Hunter. AD Hunter consists of several neat functions to block all kind of ads. You can use the "Auto Filter" to block popup ads or setup a "Filter List" for more accurate and customized blocking.
IE Extension Support
Can the Google Bar and other IE Toolbar be installed and used in third party browsers besides IE? Even Google will tell you NO, but we can say YES. In fact, not only the Google Bar is supported. Maxthon Browser can also support a lot of other IE plugins and toolbars like FlashGet Bar, etc.

There are even more features that Maxthon Browser can provide you, such as, Page Zooming, Simple Collector, Web Services, Password protecting Tabs, URL Aliases and many others. All of them working efficiently while you surf the Internet with Maxthon Browser.
OPERA And firefox includes almost the same features than maxthon but they are kinda heavy to load(in my computer firefox starts in about 30 seconds, maxthon starts in 2 seconds), and maxthon is WINDOWS ONLY :D so its an exclusive, also you can have a lot of plugins, more skins that you can use to customize it, and more stuffs you can add thru its sidebar interface (like having all messengers in one inside your webbrowser, play classic games, using imageshack in one click etc.)
TOTALLY RECOMMENDED By the way i have installed maxthon firefox and opera in my pc, so i use sometimes opera and sometimes firefox next to my maxthon browser :D I recommend the 3 but especially recommend MAXTHON :D

Firefox ( http://www.getfirefox.com ) is considered the best (or at least most popular) alternate to Internet Explorer. Most people like it for it's clean interface & the ability to expand the browser through add-ons.
Alternate browsers to try would be:
* Mozilla -- http://www.mozilla.org/products/mozilla1.x/ -- An all-in-one Internet suite (browser, e-mail, IRC, ect.), but it's now consider outdated.
* Mozilla Seamonkey -- http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/ -- The NEW all-in-one Internet suite (browser, e-mail, IRC, ect.) from Mozilla.
* Netscape -- http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/ -- The grandfather of internet browsers.
* Opera -- http://www.opera.com/ -- Another relatively old (but stable) browser that's commonly used in mobile devices & as well as the Nintendo DS & the upcoming Wii
Try out one of these alternatives to see which one you like as something that is popular may not fit your style.
