Most horses (Roy Rogers' horse "Trigger" is stuffed and on display in his mueseum in Apple Valley, California) are taxidermied if they are for scientific or monumented displayed. Don't hear about it much for those who just had the horse as a "back yard pet" compared to a horse who is known World Wide and has high price value.

If a person can find a taxidermist who is willing to do it, then yes it can be done. The price depends on the taxidermist, how large the horse is and value of displacement. It ranges into the thousands. Estimated a few grand starting out. You have to locate a taximdermist to clarify their cost.

RE:
Can you stuff (taxidermy) a horse when it dies, if so how much does it cost?

I am sure if you check your yellow pages under taxidermy and make some calls you will find a place tht will do it. I got my Green Amazon Parrot stuffed and my Parakeet and it cost $382.00 for both. A horse may run you about $1,800.- $2,500. rough estimate.

I was about to go to sleep until I read this. Now I'm not sure I'll be able to. If you are really set on doing this, I guess they could for some amount of money. Maybe $500 or so, I don't really have any experience with that.

I don't see why not but it would use an awful lot of sawdust. Why do you want to stuff the horse anyway, it seems like a pointless waste of money since you can't ride it stuffed.

I seem to remember Trigger was stuffed, but that was showbiz!!

yes, you can but as everyone else said it would be extremely expensive i don't know the exact cost but you can go to your local taxidermist and find out. what exactly would you do with ur hourse if they stuffed it? maybe to cut the cost you could just do the head, like a deer. or if you look online they have places that you can send ashes too or hair from your horse and they'll make things for you out of them.

Yeah, I couldn't recall the horse's name at first, DidoDee... beat me to it.

Roy Rogers was an old-timey movie cowboy, his horse Trigger was famous too, so Roy had Trigger stuffed when the horse died.

My personal opinion is that it's creepy to stuff your dead pet, I don't care if it's a hamster, dog, cat, or horse.

you can stuff a horse, we used to have one in the museum i lived in. but make sure you find a good taxidermist because the one we had looked awfully unreal. and i would imagine it would be very expensive.
