I'm curious. I work a lot with nail guns, and I've been reading some scary stories of nail gun accidents. One was a man who accidently shot himself in the forehead with his nail gun. He lived to tell about it with no complications!! So how long does a nail have to be to reach your brain if accidentally shot into your forehead?
Does it have to be a long nail.
I'm thinking of wearing a helmet.

hmm...I'm an engineer...but I gotta say this..I saw this movie where the guy said..."I will kill you w/ this bottle cap" the other guy laughed and they started to duke...before you know it "THUNK"...the guy impaled the other guy w/ the bottle cap right between the eyes and the dude jus hit the floor...way cool movie scene heh...er...about your question...er ...yea....on the job it's safety first...getting hit w/ a nail gun is a deadly accident no matter how lucky a person might be...you've always got to prepare for the worst...theres alot of nerve clusters at the forehead and the base of the spine where the cerebral cortex is I believe that you just DO NOT want to mess w/...a hard hat or helmet is yes a means of protection...I believe your supposed to wear a hard hat on the job as part of OSHA regulations anyway...everyday people are using creative means' and inventive ways of making this world a better place to live...baseball players never used to wear gloves...until somebody said hey this hurts...I'm wearing a glove...if I was supposed to be creative I would suggest something like a metalic hard hat w/ a visor made of lexan er something...but then there's the rest of your body thats unprotected...jeeze...this is why you should prolly take more precaution than ever when using a nail gun...dont let anyone rush you...when the foreman er whoever is rushing people where I work I say: "someone's going to get hurt"...and sometimes after I say that someone does get hurt...I can just see it coming...try to have the insight when it comes to job safety to know trouble before it happens...the best sight is foresight...good luck and take care...

its a matter of what part of the brain the nail hits but i mean about an inch but really the fatality is what part of the brain the nail hits.
