That depends on how you feel about your potential partner having sex with someone else before you. If you feel that a person is degraded, impure or not worthy of you because he/she has been intimate prior to your relationship, then perhaps you should either choose someone else, or evaluate why you feel you have to be with only a virgin.

It also depends on what your religious beliefs are. Some religions insist a woman be virgin before she marries. Others have a double standard; a woman must be a virgin, while a man may have multiple sex partners and experiences before he marries. And in some religions, a person's sexual experiences don't matter.

In any case, a non-virgin person who commits to fidelity in a relationship with you is special and very worthwhile to be with. I would rather be with someone like that than a virgin who lies to me and is unfaithful.

It does. If a person is a virgin, it matters very much to him or her. It tells you that you have values and won't settle for just anyone who puts pressure on you.

And, of course, in the Middle East your family could kill you if its found out you're not a virgin. No one would say a thing. Aren't you glad you're an American?

It really should...and it's pathetic that to so many people it means absolutely nothing.

Your virginity is one of the few things that you can hang on to. It's special, and I'm afraid taht we're approaching a generation where even the men won't find it as special that a woman has remained a virgin until she was married. But yes, to me it still matters. True love waits.

In not few communitieis around virginity is important thing for your life. It teaches you strength and passion together. In this time the social trend seemingly follows virginity loss or perhaps some serious brain mutation is occuring in our time. For easy consideration you will see both good and bad sides on virginity but according to proper family livelhood it is the happiness core.

yes it does very much so now more than ever if you believe in God and follow the bible you know that being a virgin when you marry is required and being only with one person your whole life to be such a person shows how much you respect yourself and the person you at last marry

according to my girlfriend, yes, she tells me we must wait till marriage, I don't know if I'll end up marrying this girl or not (she's a sophomore and I'm a senior) but hey, if it's alright with you and the people you associate with, then it shouldn't matter

Sure. If it matters to YOU- it matters. And don't let ANYONE tell you otherwise. You're not following a "crowd" here- you're following your heart.
