It's definately not Ronaldinho this time around but i want to believe for 2006, it should go to none other than Fabio Cannavaro. His combativeness and great defensive work was key to Italy's success at the recent world cup. He was also magnificent for Juve, leading the club to yet another Serie A title last season.
Zidane, Christiano, Pirlo and Lucas Podolski are some of candidates capable of winning the big prize but I think Fabio will be the deserved winner.

maybe you don't know but Zidane is not playing, he retired from football.
while for Cristiano Ronaldo, (not an actor) a great football player that has been outstanding for Manchester and Portuguese National Team. He is a serious candidate.
Força Cristiano Ronaldo!!!
