okay i was wondering why some of you gave me answers like 'cut that ---- out!' so i searched it in images... i had no idea what it was!! ! Sorry for whoever's offended. i just need to know the function of it to help study for science...

A sphincter is a circular muscle which normally maintains constriction of a natural body passage or orifice and which relaxes as required by normal physiological functioning. There are at least 42 different sphincters in the human body, some of them microscopic in size.

there are obviously more than the famous ONE. these muscles act as a passage way to the next realm with APPROVAL from the body or conscience. once u die, the approvals go out the window and loosen up...so-to-speak. talk to a funeral director for what happens next....or to a first person account on an accident scene....not pretty.
