not at all...some children take piano lessons starting around 5....some people take lessons as adults. I took lessons when i was 13. Whenever you think you are ready. You are never too old or too young to learn anything.Thats cool too because i started playing the viola when i was 10. I thought it was prettier than the violin hehe.

No, are you kidding if anything 17 is too old to learn the piano alot of people start at 8-10. It's never too late to learn anything, but 17 is not young to be learning the piano.

Not at all. I started learning when I was 7 and I know of someone who started when she was 84. There is no age limit with music. Seeing as you already have a good musical background, the piano shouldn't be too hard to learn.

Enjoy it.

Definately not! It's never too late or too soon to learn a new music. Your background in other music (especially if you've studied classical *sometimes called formal* guitar) will help you out a lot. Lol, I wish I was as talented as you. :) I only know piano (a lil percussion)

Uh....No!! I'm a musician myself...and to be honest, there's a lot ppl like you out there. Age does not matter to learn music...in whatever way(singing or instruments). You just need to put all your efforts to learn it. Some ppl start learning music when they were 3 and some ppl start learning it when they were over 20 years old. So, basically....age is not a problem to learn music. If you love it...then you will do it.

To answer your question your never to old or to young to learn anything. Especially musical instruments. With your background, you already should be able to read notes, so don't hesitate. First you will learn where to place hands, then where each note is, then chords, and your well on your way.

I ran a music school for years and we had pupils from 3 years to 73 years old. We never had a failure. in over twenty years.
So your answer is no old or young as little or no meaning on what or when you can learn.

actually with learning any instrument or any sport or anything you might do (even foreign languages) it's best to start as early in life as possible! so, no 17 is never too young, i'm 26 and feel i'm too old to think about starting and i would love to learn myself!!
