Corruption,greed,miss use of public resources,not spending enough on education,poor infrastructure.I could go on and on.These people in power some of them just don't care about the average man,or country at large.

places like mumbai, bangalore, hyderabad, chennai and new delhi are the only cities which are developing really fast. Mumbai is the financial capital and bangalore is the IT capital....There are plenty of villages in india where most of the poor live. Currently there are many projects to improve infrastructure in these areas. Most of the poor live really far from the developed areas, although you still see some poverty in major cities. Things are improving though, so thats a good thing!

I've just been on holiday to United Arab Emirates (Dubai) I think they should rename it United Indian Emirates!
They are poor because of the men out number the women & there are no jobs available for the untrained. The trained ones migrate, and that leaves the poor ones with no schooling with no advantages to learn skills. I guess this is why they are so disgusting & unhygenic & rude, with no morals. Hence they will stay poor untill they can establish a wider infrastructure for employment, wont happen in our life time!
