My tenant called at 10:30 tonight to say her cat was chasing something in her dining room and she needed me over right away. She's 88, so I hurried over to help her. She went on to explain her cat was chasing it and she didn't know if it was a kitten or mouse, lol, big difference there. She then said that at one point she walked up to it and tapped it with her foot and it crawled away. This seemed absurd to me so I kinda blew it off. As I stood in her dining room, it did crawl out and was definitely not mouse. It was very long and not elevated any, seemed to be touching the floor. It now became apparent she could have kicked it. It was barely moving, so just kinda taking its time crawling. I went home and got my husband and when we got back it was gone. Any idea at all what it could be?? It was two toned colored, grey and black and really has me flabberghasted.

We've pretty much determined it's a mole. We remembered back to when we bought the house we had them living under the front porch and one in our basement at some point. Thanks for all the help though : )

Could it be a baby squirrel or a possum maybe? Maybe it needs its mommy, and the cat could have injured it. Thats kind of freaky!!

Probably a squirrel, raccoon, or an opossum. If it didn't get
back out, you'll be getting another call soon!

It is a baby possum, and it is not alone, and it will have plenty of fleas
